Vaastu shilpa shaastra, the ancient mystic science and art of designing and constructing buildings finds its origin in stapatya veda, which in turn is a part of yajur-veda, one of the four vedaas of India.( RIG-VEDA, SAAMA-VEDA, YAJUR-VEDA & ATHARVANA –VEDA.) Vedaas are not new to the other parts of the world and there have been people of all levels who have appreciated the depth, inspirations and insight of vedic thoughts for many years. The Vedaas have categorically declared many times that Reality is one, Sages call it by various names, God is one, but its dimentions are several. The various Vedic Gods are simply the different manifestations of the same reality. This so called multiplicity of Gods amply reflects the essential Vedic doctrine, All paths lead to the same goal, The truth is one and every one is seeking it. The individual temperament, time, place and name etc; create the so called differences. The world is, but the manifestation of a part of Him. * What was, What is & What shall be all is OM. Whatever else is beyond the bound of three fold time, that also is OM.

Sages and saints who wrote down the texts on the subject had kept in mind the influence of sun, the soul of this universe, the moon, the effect of other planets and their light and heat on the earth and its living beings, earths atmosphere, wind, its directions, earths magnetic field, gravitational forces & various other factors. Astronomy is the foundation of Astrology (Jyothishya ) and they together with calender (Panchanga-Almanac ) play an important role in different aspects of Vaastu Shilpa Shaastra, Particularly in deciding the right time and day to commence the construction work. Buildings built as per Ancient Indian Texts,bestowed happiness and all round Abundance and Prosperity to all those concerned. Vaastu shilpa shaastra is an admixture of science, art, astronomy, astrology and the mystic doctrine and one should be very cautious in arriving at any hasty conclusions about its merits and demerits.
